This study presents evidence regarding the construct validity and internal consistency of the IFSP Rating Scale (McWilliam & Jung, 2001), which was designed to rate individualized family service plans (IFSPs) on 12 indicators of family centered practice. Here, the Rasch measurement model is employed to investigate the scale's functioning and fit for both person and item diagnostics of 120 IFSPs that were previously analyzed with a classical test theory approach. Analyses demonstrated scores on the IFSP Rating Scale fit the model well, though additional items could improve the scale's reliability. Implications for applying the Rasch model to improve special education research and practice are discussed.  相似文献

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are prevalent in the population and linked to various negative long-term health and social consequences. However, due to the retrospective nature of most studies on the topic, little is currently known regarding ACEs' immediate health impact. This study aims to provide insight into this area by examining the association between a new measurement, Adverse Family Experiences (AFEs), and flourishing amongst children ages 6–17 years in the United States. Data from the 2011/12 National Survey of Children's Health were analyzed. Adjusted prevalence ratios assessed flourishing by the number of AFEs (0 events versus 1, 2, 3/3+) controlling for individual/household characteristics. A sub-analysis examined characteristics of flourishing children ages 12–17 years with 3/3+ AFEs. The results showed children with 1 AFE (APR = 0.87; 95% CI = 0.83-0.91), 2 AFEs (0.74; 0.69–0.79), and 3/3+ AFEs (0.68; 0.62–0.72) were less likely to flourish compared to those without any AFEs. Sub-analysis of children ages 12–17 years with 3/3+ AFEs revealed a higher proportion of flourishing children volunteering, participating in extracurricular activities, and working for pay compared to those who did not flourish. Findings show significant differences in flourishing by number of AFEs and suggest that social connectedness may play a role in determining flourishing amongst children with 3/3+ AFEs. Furthermore, the results highlight the potential importance of identifying children with high AFE counts and helping them build resilience outside of the home.  相似文献

The people who use computers and the ways they use them have changed substantially over the past 25 years. In the beginning highly educated people, mostly men, in technical professions used computers for work, but over time a much broader range of people are using computers for personal and domestic purposes. This trend is still continuing, and over a shorter time scale has been replicated with the use of the Internet. This paper uses data from four national surveys to document how personal computers and the Internet have become increasingly domesticated since 1995 and to explore the mechanisms for this shift. Now people log on more often from home than from places of employment and do so for pleasure and for personal purposes rather than for their jobs. Analyses comparing veteran Internet users to novices in 1998 and 2000 and analyses comparing the change in use within a single sample between 1995 and 1996 support two complementary explanations for how these technologies have become domesticated. Women, children, and less well-educated individuals are increasingly using computers and the Internet and have a more personal set of motives than well-educated men. In addition, the widespread diffusion of the PC and the Internet and the response of the computing industry to the diversity in consumers has led to a rich set of personal and domestic services.  相似文献

There has been a paucity of research on the experiences of students at Pakistani universities. A survey of over 900 students at two universities examined their approaches to studying and perceptions of their courses. Evidence was obtained for a deep approach, a surface approach and two aspects of a strategic approach. Their perceptions were based upon the instructional practices, the acquisition of generic skills, the appropriateness of the assessment and of their workload, and the available learning resources. A higher‐order analysis revealed two broad dimensions of the student experience in Pakistan. Students who had positive perceptions tended to adopt a deep approach, to prefer courses, teaching and assessment that supported their understanding and to be engaged and reliable in their studies. However, students who had negative perceptions tended to adopt a surface approach and to prefer courses, teaching and assessment that reinforced this approach through the bare transmission of information.  相似文献

以Learning Styles Questionnaire在国内的使用进行效度研究为目的,在全国范围内选取了304个样本进行测验,问卷回收后利用SPSS15.0和VB6.0对数据进行统计分析,测验量表在中国使用的信度和效度。其结果为:内部一致性系数为r=0.766,复本信度为0.943、0.543、0.695、0.673,效标效度系数为0.626。研究结果表明Learning Styles Questionnaire在国内使用信度和效度尚可以接受,但有待于进一步提高。  相似文献

毕节试验区职业学校对阳光体育运动的宣传、推广重视度不够,但学生的体育锻炼态度是积极的。学生每周参与阳光体育锻炼的次数不高、每次活动时间短,男生参与锻炼的积极性稍好于女生。学生进行锻炼的活动项目主要是篮球、羽毛球、乒乓球、慢跑等简便易行的项目,且男、女生在主要参与项目上差别不大。体育活动的场所主要在学校体育场,组织形式主要是与同学(朋友)一起或个人单独活动,校内各种团体组织在促进阳光体育活动开展上没有发挥实际效用。建议:毕节试验区职业学校应大力宣传阳光体育运动,促使学生积极主动参与到健康体育运动中来。并把阳光体育运动提到日常教学的高度,形成制度。同时切实加强对体育经费的投资及监管力度,改善运动场地等条件,做好学生进行阳光体育活动的基础性保障。并且加强对阳光体育锻炼的组织管理工作,充分发挥各部门组织成员的作用,开展符合学生兴趣和爱好的体育活动项目,营造良好的体育氛围。  相似文献
